What you need

tsp kosher salt

tbsp olive oil

tbsp unsalted butter
ground pepper

0 Preheat the oven to 350°F. 1 Lightly sprinkle tenderloin with salt (and pepper if desired) on all sides. 2 Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large sauté pan over medium/high heat. Sear each side of the beef tenderloin for 2 minutes. 3 Remove pan from the stove, place in the oven and cook for 6-8 minutes for medium rare and 10 minutes for medium. (See below for internal temperatures and approximate cooking times for each.) 5 Remove steak from the oven. Place a tablespoon of butter in the pan, swirl to melt and spoon over the steak. 4 Transfer steak to a cutting board and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.View original recipe
